Creative Arts Workshop

A workshop based on a relevant issue chosen by the school. The issue would be explored and pupils will have the opportunity to create a visual image to express their opinions.

Who am I ?? What and who is important to me?? Create a visual identity, create a design/image and transfer it to a T shirt, learn ‘Air Brush’ skills.


Music Production Day

The pupils will be engaged in writing, performing, recording and mastering their own music. They will create their own CD sleeve using Software and will each be given a copy of the CD to take away.
Young people will have the opportunity to learn basic recording and song writing skills to help them create their own music.


Anger Management

The Anger Management programme covers the following subjects:
• What is Anger? • What causes anger? – Triggers • What happens to the body when angry and how can we control it? • Coping with difficult situations • Calming Techniques • Strategies for coping with anger

 


Video Production

An interactive workshop teaching the basics of Interviewing, filming and video editing. Enabling young people to express their views on issues that are relevant to them


Healthy Living

This is an interactive workshop which looks at exercise, diet and sleep. In this workshop, the morning is centred on gaining understanding of the benefits of healthy lifestyle, followed by an afternoon at the gym.


Wheels

Young people will have the opportunity to visit the Wheels Project in Birmingham.

Pupils will learn about about engines and basic car maintenance, as well as having the opportunity to drive road cars and Karts.

Young people can also complete a road safety programme.


Consequences of crime

The aims of this workshop are to encourage pupils to learn and practice consequential thinking skills. A local probation officer and an ex-offender discuss the consequences of crime on the individual, the victim and society.

Pupils are asked to examine how their current behaviour may affect their future.


 

Caffeine to Cocaine

A workshop delivered by our qualified drugs worker. A deeper look into the issues surrounding drug misuse. Information on the dangers involved.

 


 

Sexual Health

In this programme young people will develop an understanding of sexual health issues through group work, discussion, drama, games and worksheets. The programme has currently been designed to be delivered to girls and boys separately.

 


 

Drama

This workshop uses drama to help young people understand their emotions and to be more aware of what their body language communicates.
