LEAD YOUTH WORKER

Would you like to make a difference in the lives of local young people?

We have a vacancy for dynamic, creative and enthusiastic lead youth worker to join our team.

The role involves planning, delivering and leading a variety of youth work sessions, such as regular youth clubs, small group work and holiday activities.

Skills needed are a passion to work alongside young people, leadership,  initiative, good organisation, sense of humour and great communication

You should be able to demonstrate experience of working with young people aged 10 years upwards, including those who may display challenging behaviour, and be familiar with the matters facing young people from a range of backgrounds.

You will enjoy working with young people, relish working as part of a team, and be willing to work within a Christian ethos.

We would welcome applicants from the local area.

 

Level 3 Youth Work Qualification is preferred but not essential if relevant experience is demonstrated.

Must be able to work at least two evenings a week and have own transport.

Would you like to make a difference in the lives of local young people? Think you’ve got what it takes to be a youth worker?

We have vacancies for dynamic, creative and enthusiastic youth workers to join our team, working in our early evening youth clubs at Thornbury or Berkeley, or both.

Skills needed are a passion to work alongside young people, initiative, sense of humour and great communication.

We also have a purpose-built venue – The Pod – next to Thornbury Skate Park, so now is an exciting time to join us.

The role includes the delivery of a creative programme of ‘open access’ positive activities. Mostly this will be in our after school/evening youth clubs, currently running on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 6.30-8pm. (There may be occasional Saturdays if we are involved in/running a community event). The role includes planning, setting up/packing down, and evaluation, as well as face-to-face work with young people; offering support, guidance and encouragement to young people in a variety of settings and encouraging personal and social development by building trusted relationships.
We need someone with a non-judgmental approach towards supporting young people who is also fun and outgoing! Extra points if you can run engaging sports activities!
You should be able to demonstrate experience of working with young people aged 10 years upwards, including those who may display challenging behaviour, and be familiar with the matters facing young people from a range of backgrounds.
You will enjoy working with young people, relish working as part of a team, and be willing to work within a Christian ethos.
We would welcome applicants from the local area. 
Level 2 Youth Work Qualification or equivalent experience preferred. However, training can be offered to the right candidate.

BERKELEY YOUTH CLUB 

We are excited to announce that we have been commissioned by Berkeley Town Council to restart the youth club in the town! It is anticipated that this will begin in September 22, initially for one evening a week, and then hopefully opening a second evening sometime after Christmas

We will begin with the younger age group (school years 6-9) on a Monday evening at the Canon Park Sports Pavilion.
The youth club will be our successful format of games, art activities, gaming, food, music, chill and chat. We will also have access to the adjacent sports field.
 
We can’t wait to get started!
